Comparison of HT Techniques

With today's technological development, the equipment and the devices utilised in hair transplantation have seen constant evolution and advancement. The different methods arising from this progress are FUT and FUE follicle extraction methods and the innovative implantation methods due to the FUE extraction method.

The FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant) Hair Transplant

The FUT hair transplant procedure, also know as the strip procedure, is a relatively old hair transplantation technique where a patient's hair is transplanted in naturally occurring groups of 1 to 4 hairs, called follicular units. It is performed by removing a strip of tissue from the donor area which is sutured leaving a linear scar on the scalp. The grafts on the skin taken from this area are then separated and implanted into the hairless area. HairExpert does not perform the FUT/Strip procedure due to the formation of permanent scarred tissues on the donor area and other possible side effects.

The FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) Hair Transplant

With the FUE hair transplant procedure, small incisions are practiced onto the scalp to open the channels that will host the previously extracted grafts. The grafts are implanted one by one by using special tweezers. HairExpert does not do hair transplant procedures with the Classic FUE method because the used steel blades do not abide by generally accepted professional and medical standards. They can, in fact, cause tissue destruction and degeneration which can even lead to necrosis.

The Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant

The Sapphire FUE hair transplant procedure is a natural evolution of the Classic FUE procedure and is performed similarly but according to higher medical standards. In fact, the small incisions practiced onto the scalp are done by using blades made from the precious Sapphire and not steel and this allows for a safer, easier and faster recovery from the surgery.

The DHI (Direct Hair Implant) FUE Hair Transplant

The hair transplant procedure with the DHI technique is the latest evolution of the FUE one as the whole procedure remains the same up to the implantation phase. In fact, the channel opening phase is entirely skipped. The exctracted grafts are loaded into the Choi implanter pen and directly implanted into the skin.
